Church government, ministry & administration by apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors & teachers

Ephesians 4:11 through Ephesians 4:13 (NLT)
11He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.

The ascension gifts each have a distinct nature of ministry within the church, but each are called to equip and release God’s people for works of service.

Apostle – provides leadership in order to see the Church grow

Prophet – supernatural insight (foretelling, directing, warning, confirming & exhorting)

Evangelist – primary concern is reaching lost people

Pastor – primary concern is the care of God’s people

Teacher – makes the profoundest mysteries of the word understandable to all
