God's Hands Reaching Out
John 3:16 (NLT)
16“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
God’s love for humanity is incomparable – there is no love like God’s love (unconditional love). From the moment He created man, He has sought to be in close relationship with him. In Genesis 3:9 we read that God came looking for Adam in the Garden of Eden and Adam heard Him say, “Where are you?”
Throughout the history of mankind nothing has changed. Our loving God is still pursuing an intimate relationship with every human being on the planet. If people would just stop long enough to listen, they too would hear the voice of God asking, “Where are you?” Our heavenly Father demonstrated His deep and passionate love for humanity when He sent His only son, Jesus, to seek and to save those who are lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus was always reaching out His hands to individuals to lift them out of the difficult situations they found themselves in and placing their feet upon a solid and exciting pathway – God’s plan or destiny.
The ultimate picture of God’s hands reaching out to humanity is the picture of Jesus hanging on the cross with His arms stretched out - it’s the pictorial demonstration of the biblical statement, “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Jesus paid the ultimate price, once and for all, so that anyone who believes in Him will be saved and enter into their eternal destiny - now that’s amazing love!
The Lord has commissioned those of us who have been saved to be His hands and His mouthpiece reminding people that God continues to seek and to save the lost today. We celebrate God’s hands reaching out to us every Easter, but let’s pray that this year and every year we celebrate that there will be many others who are celebrating with us the fact that they too have be found.
love and blessings,
